DETROIT – Graduate student Parker Junod would lead the way for Mercer with four goals and two assists. The Bears would go on an eight-goal run in the third and fourth quarter to secure the 17-11 victory over Detroit Mercy.

Seven different players scored goals for the Bears (2-4), Parker Junod, Jack Parolin, Khory Reid, and Dillon Bush all had had hat-tricks and combined for 13 total goals. Between the pipes Senior Collin Kelley notched 11 saves while Rand Paddack added a save in his two minutes of play

HOW IT HAPPENED

Detroit Mercy went on a 2-0 scoring run within the first five minutes of the game. The Bears would answer with two straight goals from Jack Parolin. Parker Junod found the back of the net and took the lead. The Titans came back and scored the equalizer. The score was 3-3 in the first quarter.
Detroit Mercy scored two at the start of the second. Khory Reid scored to bring the Bears within one, however, the Titans would score one more before the half. Khory Reid added one more goal before the halftime whistle.
Mercer went on an 8-goal unanswered streak within the third and fourth quarter. This streak saw Junod, Reid, Bush, and Parolin each completed their hat-tricks.
The Bears would go onto to defeat the Titans 17-11

Graduate Attackman Parker Junod tallied a team-high six points (4 goals, 2 assists) against Detroit Mercy
Senior Collin Kelley turned in 11 saves between the pipes. It is the fourth straight game Kelley has notched 10 or more saves.

NOTABLES

Detroit Mercy moves to 0-5 on the season and 0-1 in ASUN conference play.
Dillon Bush scored his first collegiate goal in the Orange and Black.

UP NEXT

The Bears will return home to Five Star Stadium next Wednesday, March 20 at noon when they welcome ASUN rival Bellarmine to Macon, Georgia.
