Women's Tennis Hosts ETSU Thursday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's tennis team returns to SoCon play on Thursday when ETSU comes to Macon to play the Bears. The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. from the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.

Mercer is looking for its first win all-time against ETSU. The Bucs defeated Mercer last season, 6-1 in Johnson City, Tennessee.

The Bears are riding a four match win streak into Thursday's match. Mercer recently defeated SWAC champion Alabama State 4-3 on Tuesday in a nonconference match.

Lea Falentin clinched the match for the Bears against the Hornets to improve to 10-3 in single matches this season. Teodora Ristic has won her last four singles matches and leads the Bears with an 12-2 singles record this season.

ETSU enters Thursday's match with an 8-6 overall record. The Bucs are one of three teams along with Mercer who are undefeated (3-0) in SoCon matches this season.

ETSU is coming off a 4-1 loss on the road at No. 28 FIU last Friday. Ralitsa Alexandrova leads ETSU with a 10-3 singles record this season. The doubles team of Fernanda Carvajal and Daniela Rivera leads ETSU in doubles with an 8-2 record. Rivera was named the SoCon Player of the Month for February.
