MACON – Beach volleyball has posted their best win total since 2017, after sweeping Emmanuel (Ga.) twice and Jacksonville State, 5-0.

In the opening match against the Lions, four pairings defeated their opponents in straight sets, with Lexi Polychrones and Reese Hood dominating on court three with back-to-back 21-7 decisions.

The No. 1 pairing of Sydney Benson and Kate Hardie dropped the opening frame 19-21, but bounced back in the second to force a third set. The duo then defeated Izabela Zukowska and Ellie Jackson, 15-10 to complete the sweep.

The Bears then swept Jax State in straight sets, with Liv Diaz and Kathryn Corbett taking court four 21-9, 21-4, while Alyssa Scoggins and Hollis took court five 21-4, 21-6.

Mercer was once again in control over Emmanuel, sweeping the Lions for the second time. Kate Hardie and Jordan Morris had a close battle on court one, defeating Zukowska and Jackson 21-19, 21-18.

The No. 4 pairing of Jordyn Thomas-Warren and Carly Lenhardt defeated Aaliyah Lobendahn and Lauren Pace with back-to-back 21-18 decisions. Morgan Perry and Alyssa Scoggins took control on court five, with a 21-4, 21-4 triumph.

Nicole O'Mara and Jordan Paddock went 3-0 on the day, making O'Mara the owner of the program's NCAA individual wins record with 35.

The Bears are back in action Friday at the North Florida Invite, where they will face the Ospreys, New Orleans, College of Charleston, and UAB.
