Teegarden Registers Personal Best At Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior Bri Teegarden shaved nearly 13 seconds off of her previous personal best mark on the way to a 32^nd place finish in the 3000m Steeplechase to highlight action for the Mercer track & field team on opening-day action at the prestigious Raleigh Relays.

Teegarden registered a time of 10:52.53 to finish near the middle of the 50-runner pack. Her mark was 12.92 seconds better than the time she tallied on the way to a third-place showing at last season's Southern Conference Championships. She was just less than four seconds from matching Mercer's program superlative (10:49.00) as well.

Teegarden was the lone competitor for the Bears to register a finish in Friday's list of events held at NC State's Paul Derr Track facility. The Orange & Black will wrap up action at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday when junior Nikki Harris competes in the 800m Run at approximately 4:15 p.m.
