Bears Finish The Palmetto Intercollegiate In Sixth Place

AIKEN – Tobias Jonsson closed out the final day in Aiken, South Carolina with a 2-over-par 72 and finished tied in 8th place on the individual leaderboard and helped the Mercer men's golf team finish 6th place overall.Â

The Bears combined for a 25-over-par in the final round at the Palmetto Golf Club. Jonathan Parker (+6) carded a par 70 in the final round before settling in a tie for 18th place. Both Trey Mixon and Jacob Uyesato finished the event at 10-over par and a share of 31st place. Jay Spivey (+15) finished the event tied for 51st after shooting an eight-over-par in round three.Â

Davidson College would out-paced the rest of the 15-team field by 6 strokes, after shooting one-under-par in round 3. Behind the Wildcats sits South Carolina Aiken (+11), who shot six-over-par in round three. Furman (+19) was able to make a move into third after posting a six-over-par. East Carolina would drop into fourth after shooting 15-over-par in round three.Â
