Women's Tennis Hosts Furman Tuesday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's tennis team welcomes the Furman Paladins to Macon on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. from the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.

The Paladins are 10-0 all-time versus the Bears after picking up two wins over Mercer last season. Furman won the regular season meeting, 4-3, in Greenville, then beat the Bears, 4-2, in the semifinals of the SoCon Championship.

The Bears will look to get back on track after dropping its last match at Wofford. Teodora Ristic will look to continue her stellar season as she enters Tuesday with a 13-3 singles record to lead the Bears.

Furman is 9-10 overall but the Paladins have won their last six matches - including five SoCon matches - and will look to continue that momentum in Macon. Furman and ETSU are tied for first place in the SoCon at 5-0 in conference play.

Furman is looking to defend its 2023 SoCon regular season title after posting a perfect 7-0 regular season record last year. Freshman, Macy Hitchcock has been excellent for Furman as she owns a 12-6 singles record and has won all five of her SoCon matches.
