Tennis Teams Open Up SoCon Tournament Play On Thursday

MACON – The Mercer men's and women's tennis teams will dive into the postseason on Thursday when the Bears trek to Chattanooga, Tenn., for the 2024 Southern Conference Championships at The Champions Club.

The fifth-seeded Mercer women's tennis team (13-7, 4-3 SoCon) will open things up for the Orange & Black on Thursday morning when they tangle with fourth-seeded Wofford (14-6, 4-3). That contest is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. The Terriers posted a 5-2 win over short-handed Bears on March 29 in Spartanburg, S.C.

The two women's squads previously met in the 2019 SoCon tournament quarterfinals, with the Terriers claiming a 4-0 win over MU.
The fourth-seeded Mercer men's tennis team (7-12, 4-3) will battle fifth-seeded Chattanooga (9-14, 3-4) on Thursday at The Champions Club. First serves of that quarterfinal matchup is scheduled for 1 p.m. MU captured a trio of three-sets singles matches on April 7 to fuel a 5-2 victory over the Mocs at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.
