MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team heads to Spartanburg, South Carolina to play the Wofford Terriers Wednesday evening in a Big South matchup.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will be just the sixth all-time meeting between Mercer and Wofford. Mercer has won all five of the previous meetings. The two teams met last season in Spartanburg where the Bears won 21-10.
BIG SOUTH REGULAR SEASON TITLE SCENARIOS
With a win Wednesday against Wofford, the Bears would clinch at least a share of the Big South regular season title and the number one seed in the Big South Tournament. The Bears can win the Big South outright with wins in each of their last two remaining regular season games including the last game of the season Saturday, April 27 at Radford.
LAST TIME OUT
Mercer outscored East Carolina 6-0 in the third quarter to turn a halftime deficit into a 15-12 nonconference win over the Pirates Monday afternoon from Five Star Stadium.
Shots on goal were 30-22 Mercer and the Bears also had a decisive advantage in draws winning 19 draws to East Carolina's 12. Mercer had just eight turnovers in the game to East Carolina's 12. Six different Mercer players had a caused turnover in the game.
Gabby DiVirgilio had a game high 6-point outing with three goals and three assists. Kayla Soltys led the Bears with four goals and Caroline Glus had three goals. Soltys and Abby Morrison each had a game high seven draw controls.
SCOUTING WOFFORD
Wofford enters Wednesday's game 6-8 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The Terriers are coming off a 17-7 win over Gardner-Webb last weekend.
Wofford has a great offense as it averages the third most goals per game in the Big South at 13.1 per game. Only the Bears average more shots on goal per game in the Big South than Wofford. Defensively, Wofford leads the Big South in caused turnovers per game at 10.8 per game.Â
Junior attacker Bria Folley has had one of the better seasons of any player in the Big South this season. She is second in the Big South in points and assists per game. She has 36 goals and 34 assists on the season over 14 games.
Sophomore midfielder Emma Stalteri leads the team and ranks seventh in the Big South with 37 goals on the year. Expected to start in goal for the Terriers is junior Ella Smithers who's 7.9 saves per game average ranks second in the Big South.
