JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Junior Jiya Hastings eclipsed her personal best mark for the fourth time this season on the way to a 12^th-place finish in the Long Jump to highlight action for the Mercer track & field team on Friday evening at the North Florida-hosted East Coast Relays.

Hastings, a junior from Deland, Fla., tallied a jump of 5.62 meters on her third attempt of the afternoon and finished just 0.04 meters outside of the top 10 finishers in the event. Junior Ariel Raggs also registered a top-15 finish on Day 1 of the event, turning in a time of 1:03.98 on the way to a 14^th-place finish in the 400m Hurdles.

The Bears will close out their stay in north Florida on Saturday by competing in four events, beginning with the 4x100m Relay at noon.
