
Mercer Goes For Outright Big South Title At Radford

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team will look to win the Big South regular season championship with a win at Radford on Saturday.
The Bears have already clinched at least a share of the Big South regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the Big South Tournament.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will be just the fourth all-time meeting between Mercer and Radford. Mercer has won all three of the previous meetings. The two teams met last season in Macon where the Bears won 18-2.
LAST TIME OUT
With a 21-13 win at Wofford on Wednesday evening, the Mercer women's lacrosse team clinched at least a share of the Big South regular season championship.
Gabby DiVirgilio and Maddi Koury led Mercer offensively as each had a 7-point game. DiVirgilio had four goals and three assists and Koury three goals, four assists. Kayla Soltys had a game high five goals and Caroline Glus had four goals and one assist along with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Kate Vanderlinde made seven saves in goal for the Bears.
SCOUTING RADFORD
Radford enters Saturday's game 6-10 overall and 3-4 in conference play. The Highlanders are coming off a 24-5 loss at Furman on Wednesday.
Radford ranks sixth in the Big South in goals per game at 11.0. The Highlanders are prone to turnovers as they average the second most in the conference at 19.2 per game. They do average the second most caused turnovers per game in the Big South at 10.0 per game.
Radford has three 40+ point players led by Margaret Gleason's 45 points on the season. Gleason and midfielder Mady Cheney each have more than 30 goals on the season to pace the Highlanders' attack.Â
Expected to start in goal for Radford is senior Olivia Hunter who owns a 12.42 goals against average and a .461 save percentage.
