MACON – The Mercer men's tennis team will close out a three-match home stand on Sunday when the Bears suit up to battle Southern Conference rival Chattanooga in a pivotal league matchup at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center. Start time is scheduled for noon and admission is free.

Winners in five of their last six dual matchups, the Bears (6-10, 3-1 SoCon) are just 1-1/2 matches out of first place in the latest SoCon standings. The Orange & Black will travel to take on second-place Samford on Friday, before snapping the lid on its regular season slate against third-place Furman at home on Sunday.
Senior Samuel Barrow continues to lead MU with 13 singles victories in 2023-24, including six during the spring portion of the schedule, but Marceau Fouilhoux and Samuel MacLeod have each posted wins in their last two outings, including big triumphs in Monday's win over The Citadel. Barrow and MacLeod have teamed up to capture their last four outings at No. 3 doubles play as well.
The Mocs (8-13, 2-3) have dropped three of their last four dual matchups, including a tight 4-3 setback at SoCon-leading East Tennessee State on Friday. Senior Jakub Jupa will lead UTC into Macon having registered a 12-5 mark in spring singles action, while also posting wins in seven of his last 10 matchups in singles competition. Jupa has teamed up with Peyton Gatti to log a team-best eight doubles wins on Court No. 1 this season as well.
