SERIES HISTORY
Thursday's game will mark the 13th all-time meeting between Mercer and Furman. Tha Paladins lead the series 7-4-1. Last year, the two teams met in Greenville, South Carolina where Furman won, 2-1.
LAST TIME OUT
Larkin Thomason broke a scoreless game in the 81st minute when she found the back of the net for her ninth goal of the season to help lead Mercer to a 1-0 win over Presbyterian on a rainy Senior Day last Sunday.
SCOUTING FURMAN
Furman enters Thursday's game with a 4-4-1 record in non-conference play. Furman is coming off a 1-1 tie at home against Tennessee Tech on Sunday.
In the Preseason Coaches Poll, the Paladins were picked to finish fifth out of the 10 teams in the SoCon.
Through nine games, Furman has scored 13 goals and allowed 17. The Paladins have played better defensively of late, allowing no more than one goal in each of their last four games.
Furman has relied mostly on one player for its scoring as sophomore forward, Jenny Jacobson is the only player to score more than one goal this season for the Paladins with four.
