Collin Price Receives Arizona Fall League Invite

MACON – Former Mercer baseball standout Collin Price has been invited to the prestigious Arizona Fall League, the Houston Astros organization announced today.Â

Each fall, every MLB organization selects seven minor leaguers to play for one of the six teams in the AFL. Since its inception in 1992, more than 3,000 participants have reached the major leagues. The 2024 season begins on October 7.Â

Price, a sixth-round pick by the Astros in the 2022 MLB Draft, spent the 2024 season with the High-A Asheville Tourists and the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks. The catcher played 100 games across the two levels, slugging 13 home runs and 16 doubles with a .718 OPS.Â

Price, a native of Suwanee, Ga., was a two-time All-SoCon Second Team selection (2021, 2022) during his time in the Orange & Black, appearing in 182 games with 171 starts from 2019-22. For his Mercer career, Price slashed .281/.398/.495, launched 34 long balls, and tallied 27 doubles. He also managed more walks than strikeouts, earning 103 free passes to just 99 punchouts.Â

His finest season as a Bear came in 2022, as Price hit .315 with 18 big flies and 58 RBI to help Mercer to a 40-win campaign. Â
