Championship Sunday Bouts Set At Mercer Tennis Classic

MACON – American Anna Rogers upended second-seeded Darja Vidmanova in Saturday's semifinal round to punch her ticket into the singles draw championship at the Mercer Tennis Classic.

Rogers, who took down the former University of Georgia star in straight sets on Saturday, will face top-seeded Renata Zarazua in Sunday's championship bout at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in north Macon. Zarazua yielded just three games in topping fourth-seeded Emerson Jones in straight sets.

Sunday's doubles championship between Rasheeda McAdoo/Angella Okutoyi and Ayana Akli/Eryn Cayetano is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. The singles championship will follow.

The Mercer Tennis Classic is held in partnership with the Macon Area Tennis Association and Macon-Bibb County. All matches take place at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center.
