Volleyball Makes Midweek Trip To The Citadel

MACON, Ga. - Following a week-long stretch without a match, the Bears head to Charleston, S.C. to face The Citadel Bulldogs in a Thursday night contest at McAlister Fieldhouse.

Mercer last faced The Citadel on Saturday, Oct. 4 inside Hawkins Arena where the Bears picked up their first win of conference play, 3-0. Sophomore libero Aubri Martin posted a double-double with 18 digs and 10 assists in the victory. Sophomore outside hitter Sophia Henry led the offensive effort with 10 kills followed by Charlotte THompson who added eight kills and Joselynn Sanjurjo and Olivia Elliott each contributed seven kills. Sammi Bergjans tallied 12 assists, eight digs and two service aces against the Bulldogs.

The Citadel currently sits at the bottom of the Southern Conference standings and has yet to pick up a win this season, with an overall record of 0-20 and an in-conference record of 0-10.

First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside McAlister Fieldhouse on Oct. 30 and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
