
Mercer Welcomes The Citadel Saturday Night

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer volleyball team hosts The Citadel Bulldogs in a Saturday night match up inside Hawkins Arena on Oct. 4.
The Orange & Black look to pick up their first win in conference play after falling to Furman 1-3 on Oct. 2 in Greenville, S.C. Sophomore outside hitter Sophia Henryposted a match-high 15 kills along with nine digs on the night. Charlotte Thompson also recorded double-digit kills with 12 and middle blocker Avery Wilks put up seven kills and four blocks. For the defense, sophomore libero Aubri Martin registered 22 digs and two service aces and sophomore middle blocker Joselynn Sanjurjo was a wall at the net with seven total blocks. Sophomore setter Sammi Bergjans recorded another double-double with 26 assists and 12 digs against the Paladins.
The Citadel is off to a rough start to the 2025 season sitting at 0-12 overall and 0-2 in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs dropped matches against Wofford and Western Carolina in opening weekend of conference play, losing both matches 0-3.Â
First serve is set for 7:30 p.m. inside Hawkins Arena and will not be streamed on ESPN+ but there will be live stats available to follow along with.
