
Thompson Crowned SoCon Freshman Of The Year

MACON, Ga. - Charlotte Thompson snags the program's first ever Southern Conference Rayna Taylor Freshman of the Year award, announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon.
Thompson was a key starter throughout the 2025 season coming in second on the team with 244 kills (.209) while averaging 2.6 kills per set. The Tampa, Fla. native posted a season-high 16 kills twice, both against Western Carolina. The freshman outside hitter also added 60 digs and 27 total blocks.
Thompson and the Bears will face Furman in the quarterfinal round of the SoCon Tournament on Friday, Nov. 21 at Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, N.C. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
