Bears Release 2026 Volleyball Schedule

MACON – Eleven home games, including seven against Southern Conference competition as well as the annual Mercer Invitational in September, highlight the 31-game Mercer volleyball schedule that was released on Wednesday morning by head coach Steve Benson.

The Bears are set to unofficially open their newest slate on August 22 when they trek to nearby Athens to take on Southeastern Conference rival Georgia in a preseason exhibition matchup inside UGA's Stegeman Coliseum.

The Orange & Black will play in the first of three early-season round-robin tournaments, August 28-30, when they pack up their show and head to Alabama to take part in the Troy Invitational, and will continue their tournament tour the following weekend, September 4-6, in the Peace Garden State, batting both New Jersey-based Saint Peter's as well as host North Dakota at the UND Classic.

MU is also scheduled to make the short hop to Carrollton, September 11-13, for the UWG Tournament with pairings for that event set to be announced shortly.

Mercer will open its home slate on September 15 with a midweek contest against Florida A&M inside Hawkins Arena, and will close out their round-robin tournament slate a few days later, September 17-19, when it welcomes Montana State, Georgia State and Charleston Southern to Middle Georgia for the Mercer Invitational.

The Bears will kick off the new pod-based Southern Conference schedule, September 25-26, when they suit up to host a two-game series with The Citadel in Macon. New SoCon member Tennessee Tech (October 9-10), Samford (October 27) and UNC Greensboro (November 13-14) are also scheduled to battle the Bears in Hawkins Arena.
