
Men's Basketball Welcomes Appalachian State To Hawkins Arena Wednesday

It will be the first all-time meeting between the two teams. This is the second of two games for the Bears as part of the SoCon/ASUN challenge. Mercer previously defeated ASUN member Lipscomb, 92-77 at home on Nov. 9.

Six Mercer players scored in double figures led by Quinton Perkins II with 20 points and Mercer rolled to a strong 95-83 win over Eastern Kentucky Saturday afternoon from Baptist Health Arena in Richmond, Kentucky.

Last season, Appalachian State went 17-14 overall and 10-8 in conference play in the Sun Belt Conference. The Mountaineers were picked seventh out of 14 teams in the Sun Belt Preseason Coaches Poll. The 2025-26 App State roster includes a mixture of seven returners and eight newcomers (three freshmen and five transfers). App State is 4-3 on the season and 1-2 on the road. The Mountaineers are scoring 79.5 points per game on average in its four wins and just 57.3 points per game in its three losses. The Mountaineers are coming off an 88-53 loss at home to Elon who the Bears will travel to play on Saturday following App State. App State has just one player scoring in double figures per game as graduate student, Kasen Jennings leads the team with 16.0 points per game. Jennings has scored in double figures in six of the seven games for the Mountaineers.
