Hampton, Griffith Named To Academic All-District Team

MACON – College Sports Communicators named Grant Hampton and Bryce Griffith to its Academic All-District team for their outstanding performance both on the pitch and in the classroom.

In order to be considered for this honor, you must maintain at least a 3.500 GPA while also either appearing in at least 90% of your school's matches or starting in at least 66% of those contests.

Hampton, a graduate student from Savannah, Georgia, concluded a five-year career at Mercer. A midfielder, Hampton appeared in 60 matches for the Bears, logging 3,127 minutes. Hampton currently has a 3.571 cumulative GPA and is pursuing his MBA after studying Entrepreneurship as an undergraduate.

Griffith, a sophomore from Charleston, South Carolina, finished his first season in Macon after transferring from South Carolina. Griffith appeared in all 18 of the Bears' matches this season, starting 11 and logging 1,177 minutes. The midfielder notched his first Mercer assist against North Florida. Griffith added three more assists in the Bears' 5-4 win over Wofford. Griffith is a Finance and Accounting double-major currently maintaining a 3.900 GPA.
