
Volleyball Hosts UNCG, Wofford In Final Home Matches Of The Season

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer volleyball team welcomes UNC Greensboro and Wofford to Hawkins Arena for the final matches of the 2025 season on Friday and Saturday.Â
The Bears are coming off of an upset with over Furman on Saturday, Nov. 1 when Mercer took down the Paladins 3-1 inside Hawkins Arena. Sophomore outside hitter Sophia Henry recorded a match-high 15 kills along with 11 digs for her second double-double of the season. Sophomore setter Sammi Bergjans and senior setter Jessica Dunn combined for 37 assists on the night while sophomore libero Aubri Martin tallied a double-double with 23 digs and 11 assists.
Mercer faced UNC Greensboro earlier in the season on Saturday, October. 11 resulting in the Spartans taking down the Bears 3-1 in Fleming Gym. The Spartans currently sit at fourth in the conference standings with an overall record of 14-9 and a conference record of 7-5. UNC Greensboro has picked up big conference wins over Chattanooga and Wofford throughout the season.
The Bears last faced Wofford on Friday, Oct. 10, falling to the Terriers 3-0 inside Richardson Indoor Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C. The Terriers currently stand at second place in the conference behind ETSU with an overall record of 13-10 and a conference record of 9-3.
Friday's match against UNC Greensboro at 6 p.m. will be Senior Day where Mercer's three seniors will be honored and celebrated for their career and impact on the program. The following day, the Bears will take on Wofford at 6 p.m. inside Hawkins Arena and only Saturday's match will be streamed on ESPN+.
