MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's basketball team is set to begin SoCon play on Wednesday at Furman from Greenville, South Carolina. Tip off is set for 12 p.m. inside Timmons Arena.

Zaire Williams led Mercer with 19 points and all 14 Mercer players who saw game action scored as the Bears rolled to a dominant 122-49 win over Baptist University of Florida last Sunday from Hawkins Arena in Macon, Georgia.
SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday's game will be the 42nd all-time meeting between Mercer and Furman. Furman leads the all-time series 29-12. The Paladins won both meetings last season.

Mercer and Furman are the top two scoring teams in the SoCon. The Bears lead the conference with 83.7 points per game and Furman is second at 78.6 points per game.
SCOUTING FURMAN
Furman finished the non-conference with the best record in the SoCon at 9-4. The Paladins are 6-1 at home and are currently on a 5-game winning streak. Furman has been difficult to beat for SoCon opponents as over the last five years, the Paladins own a 32-5 record at home against SoCon opponents.
Furman was picked to finish second in the Southern Conference in voting by the league's head coaches. Chattanooga and Furman each received five first-place votes in the Preseason Poll.Â
Furman not only owns the second best scoring offense in the league, but also the second best scoring defense as the Paladins are allowing just 70.4 points per game. Freshman guard Alex Wilkins leads the team in scoring at 16.8 points per game which also ranks fifth in the SoCon. Junior forward, Cooper Boswer leads the country in field goal percentage at 81.2 percent.
