MACON – Eleven teams are set to compete this week, including five with hosting duties. Two teams - men's golf and beach volleyball - will open their spring campaigns this week, while an extremely busy Saturday shows eight teams in action, including four events on campus.

MONDAY (2/17) |
The men's golf team will open the spring portion of its 2024-25 schedule with the first two rounds of the Francis Marion-hosted Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, S.C. |
TUESDAY (2/18) |
The men's golf team will close out the 2-day, 3-round Wexford Intercollegiate at the Wexford Golf Club. |
WEDNESDAY (2/19) |
Two teams are scheduled for home contests, while two others will take to the road for midweek competition. The baseball team will open the road portion of its regular season schedule at Kennesaw State, while the men's basketball team will travel to Charleston, S.C, for a pivotal Southern Conference contest against The Citadel. The women's lacrosse team will return to Five Star Stadium for a 1 p.m. contest against American Athletic Conference foe Vanderbilt, while the softball team will play the first of five home games this week with a Wednesday evening (6 p.m.) tilt against in-state rival Georgia State. Admission to both home events is free. |
THURSDAY (2/20) |
One road event is scheduled for Thursday as the women's basketball team will head to Greenville, S.C., to take on Southern Conference rival Furman. |
FRIDAY (2/21) |
Multiple home events adorn the Friday schedule, although the women's golf team will only have hosting duties as the Bears head to Greensboro, Ga., for their annual Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational. The beach volleyball team will stray away from campus as well when it opens its newest campaign at the Stetson Spring Fling in DeLand, Fla. The Bears are scheduled to take on both Stetson and Eckerd to open the two-day round-robin tournament. The softball team will play host to the 3-day MUSB Invitational at Sikes Field and is scheduled for two home games on Friday - a 4 p.m. tilt with Alabama State and a 6:30 p.m. outing against Middle Tennessee. The baseball team will open its weekend series against Kent State with a 6 p.m. contest against the Golden Flashes at OrthoGeorgia Park. SATURDAY (2/22) |
Eight teams are scheduled to compete on Saturday, including three that will compete on campus. The women's golf team will continue play, as well as hosting duties, in Greensboro, Ga., with the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, while beach volleyball will wrap up its opening weekend of play with matchups against both Nebraska and Stephen F. Austin at the Stetson Sping Fling in DeLand, Fla. The men's lacrosse team will trek to West Point, N.Y., to take on a formidable Army squad, while the men's tennis team will head to Atlanta to lock horns with in-state rival Georgia State. The women's basketball team is scheduled for an evening contest at Wofford as well. The softball team will kick off Saturday home action with a 1:30 p.m. contest against Jacksonville as part of the 3-day MUSB Invitational, while the baseball team will continue its weekend series against Kent State with a 2 p.m. first pitch at OrthoGeorgia Park. The men's basketball team is also slated for a home appearance when the Bears entertain UNC Greensboro in Hawkins Arena. SUNDAY (2/23) |
A light Sunday will close out a busy week for Mercer's athletic teams. The women's golf team will play the final round of its annual Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational in Greensboro, Ga., while the softball team will close out the MUSB Invitational at Sikes Field with a high noon contest against Alabama State. The men's tennis team will take on North Florida in a 1 p.m. contest at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center as well. Admission is free. The baseball team will also wrap up its weekend series with Kent State at OrthoGeorgia Park, First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by visiting MercerBears.com/Tickets. |
