
Mercer Visits No. 9 Clemson On Tuesday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team heads to Clemson, South Carolina to take on No. 9. Clemson Tuesday afternoon. First draw is set for 3 p.m. ET from the Clemson Lacrosse Complex.

SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday's game will be just the second all-time meeting between Mercer and Clemson. The two programs met for the first time last season in Macon where the Tigers won 22-10.
LAST TIME OUT
Abby Morrison scored a team high five goals, to help lead Mercer to an 18-11 win over UC Davis Friday afternoon in Tempe, Arizona.
After a bit of a slow start and falling behind 1-0, Mercer then began to take control of the game and never looked back. The Bears never trailed again and led by as much as 18-8 before three late goals by the Aggies.
SCOUTING CLEMSON
Clemson is 6-1 so far on the season. The Tigers are coming off their first loss of the season at home to then No. 17 Duke. Clemson has two one-goal wins over ranked teams in a 12-11 win at then No. 11 Notre Dame and a 9-8 win at then No. 6 Syracuse.
In the 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll, Clemson was picked to finish seventh in the 12-team ACC. The Tigers went 11-7 and 3-7 in the ACC last season.
This season, Clemson is averaging 16.7 goals per game which ranks fifth in the country while allowing 8.6 goals per game which ranks 12th in the country.
The Tigers are one of the best draw control teams in the country as they win 67.2 percent of draw controls which is third best in the country. Freshman Kira Balis ranks second in the nation in draw controls per game at 10.6 per game.
On offense, Clemson is led by a four-headed attack from attackers Lindsey Marshall and Lexi Edmonds and Tewaaraton Watch List members Kayla MacLeod and Natalie Shurtleff. MacLeod and Marshall have set the pace for Clemson with 21 goals apiece.
Defensively, Summer Agostino, a member of the Tewaaraton Watch List, leads Clemson with 20 caused turnovers. Not other player has more than eight caused turnovers for the Tigers.
The expected starting goalie for the Tigers is Emily Lamparter who owns a 9.1 goals against average with a 46.1 save percentage.
