Mercer Drops Match To Western Carolina In SoCon Tournament

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Mercer women's tennis team dropped its SoCon Tournament match, 4-0 in to the No. 4 seed Western Carolina Catamounts, Thursday afternoon from the Champions Club in Chattanooga.
In doubles action, Western Carolina's Chloe Schwarz and Jade Groen defeated Emilia Cosatto and Tea Zivic, 6-3. Madison Schwarz and Angela Perez clinched the doubles point for the Catamounts in a close 6-4 match against Dzhastina Mikhnova and Marie Bannmeyer.
In singles matches, Western Carolina's Jade Groen defeated Marina de Diego Quinones, 6-3, 6-0. On court five, Angela Perez of Western Carolina defeated Marie Bannmeyer, 6-1, 6-2.
Isabella Sambola clinched the match for Western Carolina on court two with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Emilia Cosatto. The other three matches went unfinished with the Catamounts clinching the win to advance to the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament.
