Frye Named To Brooks Wallace Award Watch List

MACON – Mercer shortstop Bradley Frye earned yet another accolade in an impressive campaign on Friday, being named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List. The award honors the nation's top shortstop and will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation later this year. Friday's watch list includes the top 100 shortstops in the country.
A three-year starter in the middle of the infield for the Bears, Frye has enjoyed a breakout offensive season in 2025. Entering Thursday, Frye ranked tenth in the country with 62 hits, while his .364 batting average is good for fourth in the SoCon. The senior has seen an uptick in his power output this season, slugging a career-high 11 home runs with a 1.042 OPS and 45 RBI. Frye's offensive output is complimented with elite glove work up the middle as well as a perfect 12-12 mark on stolen base attempts.
Frye has been named SoCon Player of the Week twice this season and is the only player in the league to do so. In D1Baseball's midseason player rankings, the Marietta, Ga. native clocked in at 23rd among the country's shortstops.
