MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's lacrosse team fell to Air Force on Senior Day, 8-12, after a battle between the two squads at Five Star Stadium this afternoon.

Dillon Bush recorded a hat trick for the Bears for the sixth time this season. The remaining five goals came from Michael Frederick, Dylan McKelvy, Luke Fox, Jack Sullivan and Will Zylstra who also posted an assist. The defense put up a strong performance against the Falcons with Nolan Filley, Kade McNeil, Sullivan and Fox all picking up three groundballs and Quinn Kelley caused two turnovers. Between the pipes for the Bears, senior goalkeeper registered 14 saves on the afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bears got off to a slow start not scoring a goal in the first quarter compared to the Falcon's three goals to put them up 3-0 heading into the second quarter.
Mercer found their momentum in the second quarter with goals from McKelvy, Zylstra and Bush to put the Bears back within two goals before the end of the half.
Despite back-to-back goals from Frederick and Sullivan, Air Force kept responding to Mercer's goals holding the lead throughout the entire quarter, giving them the advantage going into the final quarter.
Bush gave the Bears some energy in the fourth quarter with two goals at the 12:12 and 11:36 mark. However, it was not enough to top the explosive Air Force offense resulting in an 8-12 loss to the Falcons for the final game at Five Star Stadium for the 2025 season.

TOP BEARS

Dillon Bush recorded his sixth hat trick of the season.
Zylstra was responsible for the only Bear assist of the game.
Rand Paddack posted 14 saves compared to Air Force's 9.

NOTABLES

Bush now has 35 goals on the season, tying Mercer's single-season record.
With Air Force's win over Mercer, they secure a spot in the 2025 ASUN Tournament.
