
Mercer Welcomes Furman To Five Star Stadium On Wednesday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team welcomes the Furman Paladins o Five Star Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. First draw is set for 4 p.m.
A win would clinch at least a share of the Big South regular season title for the Bears and the No. 1 seed in the Big South tournament.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday's game will be the 14th all-time meeting between Mercer and Furman. Mercer leads the series 7-6 and has won each of the last five games. Last year, Mercer defeated Furman, 17-11 in Greenville.
LAST TIME OUT
Sami Lowinger and Abby Morrison scored four goals each and Mercer held on to defeat Winthrop, 15-14 on the road last Saturday from Eagle Field in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
SCOUTING FURMAN
Furman owns the best overall record in the Big South at 11-3. The Paladins are 5-1 in the Big South with their lone loss coming to High Point, 18-11.
Furman was picked to finish third in the Big South Preseason Coaches Poll.
Furman's offense has been excellent this season, as they are averaging 16.1 goals per game which ranks seventh in the country. The Paladins are allowing 10.6 goals per game. Furman has strong in the draw circle as they are winning 58.0 percent of draws which leads the Big South and ranks 16th in the country.
Furman has four key players who lead them offensively with each well over 50 points on the season. They have the top two goal scorers in the conference in terms of goals per game in Anna Roser (64 goals) and Lily Toole (49 goals). Paige Harman leads the Big South in points and assists per game with 79 points and 41 assists through 14 games.
The expected starting goalie for the Paladins is Madigan Brewer who owns a 9.1 goals against average with a 42.0 save percentage.
