Â
Mercer (10-6, 5-0 SoCon) will ride a six-match win streak into Tuesday's outing after registering a 7-0 shutout of visiting UNC Greensboro on Sunday at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center – its first blanking of a conference opponent in four years. The Terriers (6-10, 1-4) had their two-match win skein snapped with a 5-2 decision at Chattanooga on Saturday, but have logged five of their six victories this season in their home facility.
Â
Wofford leads the all-time series, 12-10, but the Orange & Black will ride a three-match series win streak into South Carolina on Tuesday, and have come away with victories on their last two trips to Spartanburg. Five of the last six meetings have been decided by a lone team point.
Â
The Orange & Black is still led on the doubles court by junior tandem Amen Prince Gandonou and Hod'Abalo Isak Padio who have rattled off a 22-9 mark in doubles action this season, including a 10-5 clip during the spring dual meet season. Padio has raked in 21 singles wins in his first season in the Orange & Black, including a team-best 11 wins on the singles courts during the spring.
Â
Wofford has gotten a bulk of its singles wins this season from senior Robbie Young and sophomore Jack Deveney who have held down Court Nos. 1 and admirably with seven victories apiece. The duo has also teamed up to register an impressive nine wins in the No. 1 doubles position as well. Deveney has won each of his last five matchups at No. 2 singles.
