
Mercer Set To Take On No. 4 Florida Friday In First Round Of NCAA Tournament

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team is set to make its seventh appearance in the NCAA Tournament in program history on Friday when the Bears take on No. 4 Florida in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament from Gainesville, Florida.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game will be the 7th all-time meeting between Mercer and Florida. Florida has won all six previous meetings, including a 22-9 win in Macon earlier this season.
LAST TIME OUT
The Mercer women's lacrosse team put together a strong showing in a 16-8 win over High Point in the Big South Tournament championship game Sunday from Five Star Stadium.
SCOUTING FLORIDA
Florida enters the NCAA Tournament with a 17-2 overall record. The Gators won the Big 12 regular season and conference tournament titles.
Florida's two losses on the season were to No. 1 North Carolina and No. 11 James Madison. Florida is currently on a 14-game winning streak and coming off a 21-10 win over Arizona State in the Big 12 Tournament championship game last Saturday.
Florida has at top 10 scoring offense and defense in the country. The Gators rank fifth in the nation in scoring at 16.95 goals per game. Defensively, Florida ranks eighth in goals allowed at just 8.95 per game.
The Gators do a great job of taking care of the ball as they lead the country in fewest turnovers per game at 10.0 per game.
Florida had seven players named All-Big 12 including the Big 12 Midfielder of the Year in Kaitlyn Davies, Goalkeeper of the Year in Elyse Finnelle, and Freshman of the Year in Frannie Hahn.
Hahn leads the Gators with 83 points (30G, 53A). Junior attacker, Gianna Monaco leads the team in goals with 62.
In goal, Finnelle owns a 9.08 goals against average and a 47.7 save percentage.
