
Volleyball Announces 2025 Slate

MACON, Ga. - Mercer head volleyball coach Steve Benson and the Bears have announced the 2025 schedule.
Mercer's 29-match schedule features 12 home matches inside Hawkins Arena, including eight home Southern Conference matchups.
The Bears will kick off the 2025 season on Aug. 29 at the College of Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C. Mercer will face Eastern Kentucky before facing Appalachian State later that same day. The Orange & Black will then close out the weekend with a match against the host team, College of Charleston.
Mercer's home opener will be on Sept. 2 when the Bears host Kennesaw State in Hawkins Arena.
Following it's first home match, Mercer will hit the road again for six games straight starting off at the Eagle Classic in Statesboro, Ga from Sept. 5 to Sept. 7. The Bears will take on Pacific, UNC Wilmington and Georgia Southern across the span of three days. Next, the Bears will head to Troy University on Sept. 10 for a midweek matchup against the Trojans. Mercer will wrap up their stretch of traveling at the Southern Miss Invitational from Sept. 12 to Sept. 13 where the Bears will face Southern Miss and Mississippi State.
Mercer returns back to Hawkins Arena from Sept. 18 to Sept. 20 for the Mercer Invitational where the Bears will host and face West Georgia, North Dakota and UT Martin to wrap up non-conference play.
Conference play consists of Mercer playing all eight other SoCon teams twice - once home and once away. The Orange & Black open up conference play at Hawkins Arena to face East Tennessee State on Sept. 25 and return the next day to take on Chattanooga. Mercer's conference slate also includes three home games in a row on Nov. 7, Nov. 8 and Nov. 11. against Furman, UNC Greensboro and Wofford.
The Bears wrap up the regular season on the road against Samford and Western Carolina on Nov. 14 and Nov. 15.
Mercer finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 26-7 and a conference record of 14-2, securing the 2024 SoCon Regular Season Champions title. Steve Benson enters his first season at the helm for the Bears after leading the Presbyterian Blue Hose for two seasons.
