Mercer Rakes In United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mercer men's soccer team showcased its academic prowess on Monday evening when the Bears were among 307 programs nationwide to earn the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2021-22 academic year.
MU was also one of just 171 schools that had both their men's and women's programs recognized with the distinguished accolade.
The Bears posted a 3.60 team GPA for the 2024-25 academic year and boasted 14 players with 3.5 cumulative GPAs or better.
Mercer will lift the lid on the exhibition portion of its 2025 season on Tuesday whean the Orange & Black host Winthrop in a 3 p.m. friendly at Betts Stadium. Admission is free.
