Dykes And Moorman Named To Preseason All-Conference Team

The preseason coaches poll was also released Monday and Mercer was picked to finish fourth in the 10-team conference.
Mercer and Western Carolina (6 players) were the only two teams with multiple Preseason All-Conference players. The Preseason All-Conference team is made up of 11 players as voted by the 10 head coaches in the conference.
This is Moorman's third consecutive Preseason All-Conference selection of her career. The senior forward has had an impressive career to this point with the Bears. In her first three years, Moorman has earned the following accolades: 2x First Team All-Conference selection, Second Team All-Conference selection, SoCon Freshman of the Year, SoCon All-Freshman Team.
In 54 games, Moorman has 63 points on 26 goals and 11 assists. Last season, she finished in the top five in the SoCon in both points (21) and goals (9).
The Preseason All-Conference selection for Dykes is the first of her career. She is coming off an outstanding junior season anchoring Mercer's back line. Dykes was named a 2024 Second Team All-Conference selection last year. Her first postseason All-Conference honor in her career.
Last season, Dykes started all 19 games for the Bears and finished the season with two goals and four assists for a career high eight points. Her eight points were the fourth most on the team. Both of her goals last season were game-winning goals in which she scored both in the final 10 minutes of regulation.
