MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's soccer team travels to Stillwater, Oklahoma to take on No. 22 Oklahoma State Thursday night in the 2025 season opener.

SERIES HISTORY
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series 3-0-0. The last meeting between the two teams was in September, 2022 in Stillwater where the Cowgirls defeated the Bears, 3-1.
PREVIEWING THE 2025 MERCER BEARS
The Bears will take the field for the first time in 2025 following a 2024 campaign that saw the Bears finish tied for third in the SoCon with a 11-5-3 overall record and 5-2-2Â record in SoCon play.
Last season, Mercer's offense was one of the best in program history. The Bears scored 45 goals on the year, the most in a season since scoring 47 goals in 2014.Â
Graduate student Lindsay Bell returns in goal for the Bears and brings a wealth of experience with 54 career starts. Forward Jada Moorman and midfielder Sara Engels are the Bears' top two returning goal scorers respectively as Moorman scored nine goals and Engels four goals last season.Â
Moorman and senior defender Lena Dykes were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team on Monday. Mercer signed four incoming freshman who will all work to factor into the team throughout the season.
SCOUTING OKLAHOMAÂ STATE
Oklahoma State enters the 2025 season ranked No. 22 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll. The Cowgirls were picked to finish seventh out of 16 teams in the Preseason Big 12 Coaches Poll.Â
OSU midfielders Xcaret Pineda and Laudan Wilson and defender Jazmin Brown were all named Preseason All-Big 12 selections. Pineda is the team's leading returning goal scorer after scoring six goals last season which was good for second most on the team.
OSU is coming off a 2024 season in which it finished 14-5-3 overall and made its 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Last season, the Cowgirls were picked to finish eighth in the preseason Big 12 poll but posted a 6-3-2 mark and fifth-place finish.
The Cowgirls return seven players who started at least 10 games last season, led by Pineda and Wilson, who were both All-Big 12 First Team performers.
