Mercer Falls On The Road To Alabama, 3-0

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Lindsay Bell made 10 saves in goal, but Alabama remained undefeated with a 3-0 win over Mercer Friday night from Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Bell's 10 saves were the second most saves she's made in a game in her career. The Tide took 31 shots, but were only able to place 13 on goal. Payton Nutzman had the lone shot for the Bears, a free kick that sailed just over the crossbar.
Five players for the Bears played the full 90 minutes, including forward Morganne Eikelbarner who earned the "Grit Chain" for her performance Friday night.
"It was a tale of two halves," said coach Economopoulos. "The first half I thought we didn't come out with a sense of urgency, we didn't battle. It wasn't the team I've seen the last two games we've played and we found ourselves down two goals. I was proud of how we played in the second half for the first 40 minutes. That third goal kind of hurts us, but we battled and made it difficult for Alabama in the second half. We've got to get better to put 90 minutes together instead of 45 minutes."
