Padio Heads Back To Togo To Continue Davis Cup Action

MACON – Senior Hod'Abalo Isak Padio will make the long trip home to rejoin his Davis Cup teammates on Saturday when Togo battles Egypt in the second round of the 2025 World Group II stage.

The matchup, which is scheduled to take place at the Stade de Tennis FTT in Togo's capital city of Lomé, will serve as a qualifying match for the World Group I playoffs that will be held in 2026. Fourth-seeded Egypt is currently listed in the No. 44 position of the latest Nations Ranking, while unseeded Togo is ranked No. 61.

Padio is scheduled to compete in both singles and doubles action for his native country on Saturday against the Egyptians. First serves are scheduled for 7 a.m. ET.

The Davis Cup is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from over 150 competing countries, making it the world's largest annual team sporting competition. It is described by the organizers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as World Champions.
