MACON – The Mercer men's tennis team will make its fall team debut this weekend when the defending Southern Conference co-champs head to Jacksonville, Fla., for the North Florida Invitational at the UNF Tennis Complex.
Â
The event will be a "hidden duals" format which consists of a series of head-to-head matches between two teams. While the individual results of all completed matches are official, there is no team score recorded.
Â
The Bears will open their portion of the three-day event when they take to the doubles courts on Friday at 9 a.m. to battle Tennessee. Mercer will battle the Vols in singles action immediately following the conclusion of doubles competition. The Orange & Black is scheduled to take on Texas Tech and the host Ospreys in the same hidden duals format on Saturday at 1 p.m., and will close out their stay in northeast Florida on Sunday against Barry.
Â
Seniors Hod'Abalo Isak Padio and Nemanja Stefanovic successfully kicked off the fall portion of Mercer's 2025-26 schedule last weekend with an appearance at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Padio posted a 2-1 record at that distinguished event, including a straight-sets victory over third-seeded Derrick Chen from Georgia.
Â
The Orange & Black will make its lone home appearance of the fall campaign next weekend, Oct. 3-5, when it hosts the annual Mercer Gridiron Classic at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in north Macon.
