LAST TIME OUT
Baraka Okojie tied his career high set earlier this season with 29 points to help lead Mercer to a 109-97 win over Wofford Saturday rom Hawkins Arena.
SERIES HISTORY
Thursday's game will be the 26th all-time meeting between Mercer and VMI. Mercer leads the all-time series 20-5. The two teams split their two meetings last year with each team winning on the road.
NEED TO KNOW
In last Saturday's win over Wofford, Mercer shot 63.6 percent from the field and 63.2 percent from three-point range, both season highs.
SCOUTING VMI
VMI enters Thursday's game with a 6-11 overall record and 1-3 record in conference play.
VMI's lone conference win came on Jan. 3 at home against Chattanooga. The Keydets have been much better at home than on the road this season as they are 5-2 at home but just 1-7 on the road.
VMI has struggled offensively this year as they rank 9th in the conference in scoring at 74.5 points per game. In their three conference losses they averaged just 57.7 points per game.
VMI ranks last in the SoCon in field goal percentage at 40.1 percent and second to last in three-point field goal percentage at 31.3 percent.
VMI's leading scorer is TJ Johnson who is the second leading scorer in the league at 19.1 points per game. No other Keydet is averaging more than 10.1 points per game outside of Johnson.
