MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's basketball team is set to welcome VMI to Macon on Saturday. Tip off is set for 2 p.m. inside Hawkins Arena.

All five Mercer starters scored in double figures as Mercer raced past UNCG, 95-77 Thursday night from Hawkins Arena.
With the win, Mercer (14-8, 6-3 SoCon) has swept the regular season series against UNCG for the second time in the last three season. Mercer led by 14 at halftime and all but put the game away in the first three minutes of the second half by going on a 14-3 run to stretch the lead to 25 points. Mercer made 16 three-pointers, one shy of tying the single-game program record.

Saturday's game will be the 27th all-time meeting between Mercer and VMI. Mercer leads the all-time series 21-5. Mercer won the first meeting this season in Lexington, 77-67.

VMI is coming off an 80-56 loss at The Citadel on Thursday. In conference play, VMI has struggled offensively as they rank last in the league with just 64.3 points per game. Defensively, the Keydets allow the second most points in the SoCon at 79.0 points per game.
VMI's leading scorer is guard TJ Johnson who ranks fourth in the league with 18.2 points per game. Johnson makes 3.5 three-pointers per game which is second most in the conference and tied for eighth most in the country.Â
