MACON – Four pitchers took the mound for the Mercer Bears (7-1) and combined for a shutout as the Bears captured a 7-0 victory over the Florida A&M Rattlers (1-6) at OrthoGeorgia Park on Tuesday night.

Decisive Plays:

The Bears led wire-to-wire as they took the lead in the bottom of the third courtesy of an RBI ground-out that plated Nathan Rowland. Mercer would double its lead in the bottom of the fifth when Rowland would come home off another RBI ground-out. Rowland extended the Bears' lead in the sixth with a sacrifice fly before Logan Shepherd cleared the bases with a two-run double. Mercer tallied another run after Brant Baughcum stole home in the seventh. Shepherd extended the Bears' lead to seven runs with his second RBI double of the night in the home half of the eighth inning.
