Mercer On Road To Play Chattanooga

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer men's basketball team is set to begin a two-game road trip beginning on Thursday at Chattanooga. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. inside McKenzie Arena.

LAST TIME OUT
Mercer used a 21-7 run over the final five minutes of the game to pull away in a 95-81 win over VMI Saturday afternoon from Hawkins Arena.

SERIES HISTORY
Thursday's game will be the 49th all-time meeting between Mercer and Chattanooga. Chattanooga leads the all-time series 29-19. This is the first game between the two teams this sesaon.

NEED TO KNOW
Mercer guard Zaire Williams scored his 1,000th career point in Merce's win over VMI last Saturday.

SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA
Chattanooga enters Thursday's game with a 9-14 overall record and 3-7 record in conference play. The Mocs are currently in ninth place in the SoCon standings.

This is the first meeting of the season between the two teams. Chattanooga is 5-5 at home this season. The Mocs are coming off a 75-70 loss at Furman on Sunday.

In conference play, Chattanooga is averaging 75.2 points per game which ranks eighth in the league. Defensively, the Mocs have been better against opposing SoCon teams as they are allowing just 73.3 points per game which is third best in the SoCon.

Chattanooga lost a lot of its production off of last year's SoCon championship team. The Mocs' leading scorer is Jordan Frison who averages 14.7 points per game. No other player is averaging double figures in scoring for Chattanooga.
