
Women's Lacrosse Welcomes Arizona State To Macon Saturday

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team will play just its second home game of the season Saturday afternoon against Arizona State. First draw is set for 2 p.m. from Five Star Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will be just the second all-time meeting between Mercer and Arizona State. The two teams met for the first time last year in Tempe, Arizona where the Sun Devils won, 16-10.
LAST TIME OUT
The Mercer women's lacrosse team dropped its game on the road to No. 7 Florida, 23-9, Saturday afternoon from Donald R. Dizney Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.
Sofia D'Angelo and Caroline Glus led Mercer on the offensive end with three goals each. Sophomore midfielder Ryanne Swords led Mercer with two caused turnovers. Mackenzie Ward made eight saves in goal for the Bears.
SCOUTING ARIZONA STATE
Arizona State enters Saturday's game with a 5-3 record. The Sun Devils are coming off a 14-8 win over Akron on Wednesday. Arizona State was picked to finish second out of six teams in the Preseason Big 12 Coaches Poll. Florida was the preseason favorites.
Saturday will be Arizona State's second away game of the season. Arizona State hasn't played a game outside of Tempe since its season opener on Feb. 7 at Oregon.
Arizona State ranks second in the Big 12 in goals per game at 15.5 per game. Defensively, the Sun Devils are allowing 11.8 goals per game. Arizona State has scored at least 14 goals in six of their eight games. Arizona State has been excellent in the draw circle where they are winning 68.0 percent of its draws which ranks third in the country.
Senior attacker Jordyn Behar was named the Big 12 Preseason Attacker of the Year. Behar leads the team with 46 points (17G, 29A). Senior attackers Teagan Nge and Lydia Oldknow lead the team with 28 goals a piece, which is tied for the 10th most goals in the country.
Regan Spichiger has started six of the eight games in goal for Arizona State. She owns a .448 save percentage and 10.9 goals against average.
