CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 13 Oregon State Beavers (19-5) plated three runs in the eighth inning to come back and steal the series opener at Goss Stadium on Friday night.

Decisive Plays:

The Beavers opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI single. Logan Shepherd responded with a booming two-run home run (8) in the top of the third inning and Chris Katz blasted his seventh bomb of the season immediately after. Oregon State brought it back within one off a sacrifice fly in the home half of the frame. Paul Vaquez tied the contest with a home run in the fourth. The score remained 3-3 until the seventh inning when Dylan LaPointe mashed his fifth home run of the season, a two-run moonshot to left field, to give Mercer a 5-3 lead. The Beavers bunted home a run in the seventh and captured the lead off a pair of doubles in the eighth.
