JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Mercer men's lacrosse team came up short in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship semifinal round against Jacksonville falling 18-3 to the Dolphins on Friday afternoon at Rock Stadium in Jacksonville to put a close to the 2026 season.

Nolan Filley, Jack Sullivan and Nick Church were responsible for the three Mercer goals on the day with Sullivan also adding an assist. On the defensive side of the field, sophomore Brady Corkill and graduate student Quinn Kelley combined for six ground balls and two caused turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jacksonville got off to a hot start in the first quarter scoring six straight goals before Filley responded with his lone goal of the day and the first of his career.
The Dolphins did not let up in the second quarter scoring four goals before the halftime buzzer and Church was able to find the back of the net at the 6:09 mark for the Bears.
Jacksonville held Mercer scoreless in the third quarter and Mercer was able to hold the Dolphins to just two goals before the start of the final quarter.
The damage had been done and Jacksonville tacked on a few more goals to close out play and Sullivan scored his only goal of the afternoon at the 4:57 mark, bringing Mercer's season to a close.

TOP BEARS

Sullivan posted one goal and an assist.
Kelley led the Bears defense for one final time.
Filey notched his first career goal.

NOTABLES

Mercer's season comes to an end, finishing with an overall record of 6-8.
Jacksonville moves on to play in the championship game on Sunday against the winner of Air Force and Utah.
