MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team is set to take on the High Point Panthers on Sunday in the Big South Tournament Championship. First draw from Five Star Stadium is set for 12 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Sunday will be the 12th all-time meeting between Mercer and High Point. Mercer leads the series, 8-3. The Bears won the regular season meeting back on March 28 in High Point, 10-6.

LAST TIME OUT
Caroline Glus, the Big South Offensive Player of the Year, scored five goals to lead the Mercer women's lacrosse team to a 16-8 win over the Furman Paladins Friday evening in the Big South Tournament semifinals from Five Star Stadium in Macon, Georgia.

SCOUTING HIGH POINT
High Point enters Sunday's game with an 8-9 overall record and 7-1 record in Big South play. The Panthers are coming off a 15-9 win over Wofford on Friday in the semifinals. The Paladins are 4-2 on the road this season.

In conference games, High Point was tied with Mercer in goals per game in conference play at 17.1 per game. Defensively in conference games, High Point ranked second in the Big South in scoring defense at 6.8 goals allowed per game. In Big South games, the Panthers averaged 13.8 caused turnovers per game which led the league. In the draw circle High Point ranked third in the conference with 15.5 draws per game against conference opponents.

Senior attacker Shannon Smith leads the Panthers in points (56) and goals (44). She averages 3.3 points per game which is fifth most in the Big South. No other High Point player has more than 23 goals other than Smith.

Junior goalie Ava Welsh has started 15 games in goal for the Panthers. She owns a .453 save percentage and a 10.5 goals against average.
