MACON, Ga. -Â It will be a rematch of last year's SoCon Tournament Championship game Friday night in Birmingham, Alabama as the Mercer women's soccer team visits Samford. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game between Mercer and Samford will be the 30th all-time meeting between the two teams. Samford leads the series, 21-3-5. The two teams played twice last season with Samford winning both games. The Bulldogs won the regular season meeting 3-0 in Macon. Then, the two teams met in the SoCon Tournament Championship game where the Bears took an early 1-0 lead, before Samford rallied to score the next four goals in a 4-1 win for the Bulldogs.
LAST TIME OUT
Mercer hasn't played in over one week when an ETSU penalty kick goal in the 83rd minute was enough for the ETSU Buccaneers to defeat the Bears by a final of 1-0 last Thursday from Summers-Taylor Stadium in Johnson City, Tennessee.
SCOUTING SAMFORD
Samford enters Friday's game with a 4-2-3 overall record. The Bulldogs are coming off a 2-1 win at Western Carolina last Sunday. Through nine games, Samford has scored 10 goals and allowed just six goals. Samford tied Notre Dame in its season opener. The Bulldogs only losses on the season are to then No. 6 Alabama and UAB.
No Samford player has more than two goals on the season. Sam De Luca and Martha Bishop share the team lead in goals with two each. Annie McBride and Brinley Murphy have a goal and two assists each.
Samford goalkeeper Peyton Hull has a 0.57 goals against average, starting all nine games and allowing just five goals.
Samford head coach Todd Yelton is in his 25th season in charge of the program. He has a career record of 345-156-76, and he is Samford's all-time winningest coach with a mark of 305-124-72 in his time with the Bulldogs.
