Sunday's game will be the sixth all-time meeting between Mercer and Alabama State. Mercer has won all five of the previous meetings including last year's 6-1 win in Montgomery, Alabama.

Olivia Bori scored twice and the Bears' defense stood tall all game as the Mercer women's soccer team shutout Winthrop, 4-0 Thursday night from Eagle stadium in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Alabama State enters Sunday's game with a 0-5-1 overall record. The Hornets are coming off a 2-2 draw at Arkansas State last Sunday. Entering the game against Arkansas State, Alabama State had only scored one goal in its prior five games to start the season.
