2013 at Mercer: Was featured primarily as the Bears closer and developed into one of the most dominant and efficient relievers in the A-Sun Conference … Finished tied for second in the A-Sun with 34 appearances, four of which coming in a starting capacity … Assembled a 5-3 record and led the A-Sun Conference with nine saves … His nine saves also ranked as the 66th-most in the nation and the third-most in Mercer single-season history … Also ranked in the top-10 in the league in opponents’ batting average (6th – .246), ERA (9th – 2.94) and strikeouts (T-10th – 60) … Amazingly, didn’t allow a single home run in 67.1 innings pitched and possessed a 4.0-to-1.0 strikeout-to-walk ratio … Limited left-handed batters to a .224 (17-for-76) batting average while leading the team with a 58.5% ground ball out percentage … Earned his first save of the season after throwing 2.2 innings of scoreless relief in a 5-4 win in the Championship Game of the Snowbird Baseball Classic against Notre Dame (Feb. 17) … Earned his first start of the season against in-state rival Georgia Southern (March 12), earning a no-decision after allowing two earned runs on four hits to go along with four strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched … Started the game against Georgia State (March 19) and struck out a career-high five batters in 5.1 innings of work … Picked up another save by tossing three scoreless innings in a 10-1 win over No. 12 Georgia Tech (April 2) … Got the start against Alabama State (April 9) and picked up his first win of the season after allowing only one run in four innings pitched … Collected saves in three-straight relief appearances against Georgia Southern (April 16) and Lipscomb (April 19-20) … Threw a season-high 5.2 innings and allowed only one unearned run on three hits in the Bears NCAA Regional game against Central Arkansas (June 1) … Was touted as the top reliever in the league when he was named to the A-Sun All-Conference first team.
2012 at Mercer: Came in and made an immediate impact on the Bears pitching staff as both a starter and reliever as a true freshman ... Finished tied for third on the team with 25 appearances, eight of which coming as a starting pitcher ... Compiled a 3.90 ERA and a sparkling 6-2 record ... Finished fourth on the team with 64.2 innings pitched and tied for second with two saves ... Allowed only one home run all season and limited opposing hitters to a .267 batting average ... Earned a win in his first collegiate start against Morehead State (Feb. 18), going 6.1 innings and allowing just one run on six hits ... Got another start against in-state rival Georgia Southern (Feb. 28) and showed just how talented he is when he shut down the Eagles, throwing six innings and allowing one run while striking out four in a 12-4 win ... Picked up his third-straight win in a starting role when he threw five innings of shutout ball to go with three strikeouts in an 11-0 victory over Georgia State (March 14) ... Earned his first save of the season when he allowed no earned runs in 2.1 innings pitched in a 2-1 win against Kennesaw State (March 18) ... Collected his sixth and final win of the season when he allowed two runs on six hits in a career-high seven innings of work in a 4-2 road win at FGCU (April 6) ... Finished the season by being named to the A-Sun All-Freshman team.
High School: Played for two seasons at Alpharetta High School under head coach Steve Bohn … A two-time All-Region first player, was voted team MVP and earned All-State recognition as a senior after leading the Raiders to a 5A regional championship.
