Braeden Carlsen joined Mercer after finishing his high school career in which he was a three-time All-Conference player at Wauconda High School in Wauconda, Illinois. His senior season at Wauconda, Carlsen was named the Northern Lake Country Conference Player of the Year and was a Third Team All-State selection. Carlsen scored over 1,500 career points at Wauconda and became the program's all-time leading scorer.
