Houston Smith is in his first season with the men's basketball team as a graduate assistant in 2024-25.
Smith, a native of Columbus, Ohio is no stranger to Coach Ridder or his coaching style and philosophy. Houston was an integral part of the MEAC Regular Season Championship team that won 18 games in Ridder's first season at Bethune-Cookman. Â

Houston has spent the last two seasons at Columbus Africentric High School, where he helped guide them to a state final four in 2022.
